Est. 1950
Pioneer Growers was founded in the summer of 1950 when a small group of local farmers established a marketing cooperative to better handle and market their fresh vegetables. Pioneer Growers quickly became a major grower/shipper by supplying fresh, high quality vegetables at the fairest prices. At the time we were handling over two million packages per year.
60's-80's
Between the 60’s, 70’s, and the 80’s leafy greens and celery were the cornerstone for Pioneer. Then, as the late 80’s approached with the advent of the super sweet corn varieties, corn quickly became king at Pioneer Growers.
The 90's
In 1992, Pioneer led the way into the future when we began processing and packaging sweet corn. Since the start, Pioneer has remained an industry leader in traypack corn.
2000's & Today
In 2012 Pioneer expanded in a partnership with Hundley Farms to build a state-of-the-art corn packing line. With this line we have the ability to pack over 25,000 crates a day to the highest standards in the industry. In the summer of 2016 Pioneer demolished their original buildings from 1950 and constructed a beautiful, state of the art, food safe, facility. This project was completed just in time for the 2017 harvest.

Today, Pioneer is one of the largest distributors of sweet corn in the world, growing over 20,000 acres annually. In addition to the best corn available, we grow more than 10,000 acres of green beans, radishes, celery, and cabbage. We are proud to partner with chain stores, wholesalers, and terminal markets from all over the world.
